Inside job
The internal renovation of an iconic 1940s apartment for a young couple was about simply opening up what limited space they had, polishing the existing features such as large windows, timber floors and working with the 'good' points like the green outlook, large rooms and sensible layout.
We knocked out one part of the wall between the kitchen and the entry hall then simply removed the doors and architraves to existing openings. This detail, plus carrying the kitchen joinery into the entry, resulted in an open, almost converted warehouse feel, perfect for the geographical area and the clients themselves. Furniture selection played a large part in creating the end result with colour, texture and specific pieces culminating in an up to date, beautiful space that will keep this apartment relevant and functional for years to come.
